Natural Beauty

With spring on our doorsteps, we are all looking to make a fresh start and do a bit of natural detoxing. So we’ve put together the best beauty brands and homemade beauty recipes to help us get closer to our natural self.

Long gone are the days when choosing a natural (or more precisely a chemical free) product meant sacrificing its effectiveness — or curb appeal for that matter. Now chemical free products don’t just compete with the rest of the market they’re coveted and provide results.

Tata Harper

Introducing Tata Harper, the next generation natural beauty brand that’s become a cult classic. Tata’s motto: “I wanted to create beauty products that met the standards of the modern woman: luxurious, effective, and nontoxic.” It’s seriously hard to find a product in the range that doesn’t delight or command outstanding reviews. As a beauty therapist, it’s a brand I adore simply because I can feel confident it will deliver results.

Product to try: Tata’s purifying cleanser (which should possibly be) a London Essential? This cleanser combats daily wear caused by environmental stressors such as pollution and grime, by effectively purging surface contaminants from the skin using a potent cocktail of botanical and natural fruit extracts.

Natural DIY Recipes

Want to try a homemade beauty recipe? Here are two natural DIY recipes that certainly get our vote…

Papaya Honey Mask

The papaya and honey face mask is perfect for this time of year as papaya contains natural fruit enzymes (papain) that slough away dead skin cells, honey is a natural humectant it seals in moisture, it also contains anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties making it perfect for dull, spot prone or congested city skin.

Recipe: blend half a cup of mashed papaya with two tablespoons of warm raw cold pressed honey, leave for 20minutes and rinse.

Coconut Lime

Lime and coconut hair mask: We’ve all heard of the benefits of coconut oil but this natural hair mask combines two of nature’s most nourishing oils to soften and condition hair strands combined with the uplifting fragrance of lime. Whilst waiting for your bath apply the hair mask to the ends of the hair first working upwards towards the scalp, Rinse after 15 minutes or longer if desired.

Recipe: Four tablespoons of warmed coconut oil, one tablespoon of caster oil (a natural oil derived from the castor bean) mixed with five drops of lime essential oil.

P.S Did we mention we only use natural organic AromaWorks oils for our massages? Why not counter the stressful effects of London’s fast-paced lifestyle with a full body massage in the comfort of your own home? Trust us, you’ll love it. Book online at, via the USPAAH App, or contact, 020 7101 3534.

  1. I love all your recommendations. I refuse to put anything on my skin that is full of chemicals so I’m always interested in hearing about new brands. Love that the cosmetics industry is becoming more natural

  2. I like the idea of the coconut and lime hair mask and with having castor oil as an ingredient I will actually use it on my hair instead of being tempted to snack on it. A problem I often find with natural beauty products is that they are too tasty for their own good.
